Republicans Score Another Supreme Court Win Over FCC Political Advertising Policy
The Supreme Court issued an 8-1 stay restoring an FCC policy that lets political parties and joint fundraising committees get discounted broadcast ad rates for ads coordinated with candidates.
The ruling overturns a lower court decision and allows campaigns to stretch their advertising dollars further. Republicans, already holding a significant cash advantage, stand to benefit most ahead of the midterms.
Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was the sole dissenter.
Trump PAC Announces $10 Million Texas Senate Ad Buy
The Trump administrations’ ability to humiliate the fake news media has reached specialty levels. Liberal outlets claimed Trump’s PAC would skip major spending in the Texas Senate race and focus elsewhere.
Shortly after, MAGA Inc. announced a $10 million ad buy to boost Republican Ken Paxton. The move directly contradicted reports that it was “too late” to deploy Trump’s campaign cash.
The first tranche targets television and digital ads ahead of the midterm blitz.
POTUS Suggests Renaming New Mexico “New America”
President Trump posted a map suggesting New Mexico be renamed “New America,” crossing out “Mexico.” The White House amplified the image on social media without announcing any formal policy.
The suggestion follows recent executive orders renaming Lake Ontario “Lake America” and the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America.”
Unlike geographic features, a president cannot unilaterally rename a U.S. state. But, like geographical features, a president can unilaterally send mentally unstable leftists into a tailspin and emotional meltdown.
ICE Arrests More Than 2,100 in New York Operation
ICE’s Operation Rotten Apple arrested more than 2,100 illegal migrants in New York during August. The operation targeted dangerous criminals including drug traffickers, child rapists, and murderers.
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the effort made the state safer despite no cooperation from local sanctuary authorities.
Officials emphasized that federal agents will continue removing threats even when state and city leaders refuse to assist.
ICE Records Nearly 51,000 Arrests Nationwide in August
ICE agents set a new monthly record in August by arresting nearly 51,000 illegal aliens nationwide. The total of 50,925 surpassed July’s previous high and marked the third straight month of record arrests.
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin credited the agents’ around-the-clock efforts under President Trump to remove threats from American communities.
Officials warned that those in the country illegally face arrest and deportation.
U.S. Adds 162,000 Jobs in August
The U.S. economy added 162,000 jobs in August, far exceeding economists’ forecasts of about 55,000. President Trump called the figure a strong result that broke all estimates by double and triple.
Private-sector gains reached 127,000, while earlier months were revised upward. Trump used the data to urge lower interest rates, citing the nation’s improved credit strength.
