A federal appeals court has upheld Florida’s law banning the exposure of children to lewd adult live performances, including suggestive drag shows.
The full 11th Circuit ruled 8-5 that the statute rationally protects minors from obscenity. Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier called the decision a major victory after years of litigation.
The law targets performances depicting sexual conduct or lewd exposure unsuitable for children.
