Patriots’ Day #2: July 7, 2026

It has now been one year since the first South Vietnamese Patriots’ Day.

What began last year as a simple idea—to create a shared moment of remembrance for the history and legacy of South Vietnam—has now become something more: a returning tradition.

Dear Free Vietnam Patriots,

Whether you are inside Vietnam or overseas around the world, we wish you a warm, heartfelt, and solemn South Vietnamese Patriots’ Day—also to be known simply as Patriots’ Day.

The Tradition Continues

It has now been one year since the first South Vietnamese Patriots’ Day.

What began last year as a simple idea—to create a shared moment of remembrance for the history and legacy of South Vietnam—has now become something more: a returning tradition.

This year, we are honored to continue it.

On July 7, 2026, we once again come together to remember the courage, sacrifice, and enduring spirit of the people of South Vietnam.

Why We Continue

South Vietnamese Patriots’ Day was created to ensure that the history, sacrifice, and legacy of South Vietnam are not forgotten.

It is a day of remembrance for those who served, those who suffered, and those who carried the memory of their homeland across generations and across the world.

It is not defined by scale or ceremony. It is defined by continuity—by the simple decision to remember, year after year.

A Living Tradition

Last year showed us that remembrance does not need to be large to be meaningful.

A story shared.

A candle lit.

A flag raised.

A moment of silence.

These small acts are how traditions are built.

Today, we continue in that same spirit.

On This Day

Today, we invite everyone—whether you have followed this from the beginning or are learning about it for the first time—to take part in whatever way is meaningful to you.

Remember those who served.

Remember those who suffered.

Remember those who carried this history forward.

Closing

Traditions only endure if they are continued.

We are grateful to everyone who helped begin this one, and to everyone who continues it today.

We are honored to remember together on July 7.

Happy Patriots’ Day!

And as always—

Next year in Saigon.
