Another week, another wave of news in America.

From Memorial Day tributes to major deals and egg prices tumbling fast, here are a few highlights that sparked this week:

President Trump Honors the Fallen on Memorial Day

On Memorial Day, President Donald Trump stood at Arlington National Cemetery, his words a solemn hymn to the fallen, declaring their sacrifice the eternal foundation of America’s liberty. With reverence, he laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, vowing that the nation’s debt to its heroes will never fade but grows with each passing year. Their courage, he said, lives not in stone but in the thriving pulse of a nation 300 million strong, destined to shine brighter still.

Trump honored the warriors who embraced duty’s call, knowing the price of service might be their lives, yet asking nothing in return. He spoke to the Gold Star families, acknowledging their silent battles, their empty chairs, and their unyielding strength in the shadow of loss. Joined by Vice President JD Vance and other dignitaries, he lifted these families in gratitude, their heroes’ absence a sacred weight carried by a grateful nation.

From Bunker Hill to Kandahar, Trump traced the lineage of America’s brave, who stormed through fire and death to secure the torch of freedom. In places etched with valor—Gettysburg, Iwo Jima, and beyond—they gave all, ascending as angels to guard the Republic’s enduring promise. Their legacy, he proclaimed, is the light we carry forward, a beacon of hope raised high for generations yet to dream.

Democrat Elites Self-Promote While Mocking American Heroes

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson brazenly sidestepped Memorial Day’s solemn purpose, posting a TikTok video to celebrate “Africa Day,” touting the continent’s cultural achievements and his own pride in joining the festivities, without a single nod to the fallen heroes whose sacrifices secure his platform. His audacious self-promotion, cloaked in performative globalism, reeks of entitlement, exploiting the freedoms won by brave soldiers to elevate his image while callously ignoring their ultimate sacrifice.

The New York Times, in a display of sanctimonious arrogance, published a Memorial Day editorial decrying military bases named after Confederate generals as endorsements of “white supremacy,” weaponizing the holiday to push a divisive narrative while conveniently sidestepping the historical nuances of those figures’ broader military contributions. This entitled posturing reveals a cowardly disrespect for the heroes who gave everything to preserve the very liberties the leftist paper misuses.

Rep. Glenn Ivey (D-Md.), shamelessly spent Memorial Day traveling to El Salvador to champion deported MS-13 gang member, Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Posting on X, Ivey bragged about conducting a “welfare check,” while also whining about being turned away by Salvadoran authorities. He framed his trip as a defense of a constituent, ignoring evidence of Garcia’s ties to human trafficking and abuse. Alongside other Democrats, Ivey’s actions underscore a craven disregard for the fallen, using their hard-won freedoms to promote self-serving agendas over reverence for America’s heroes.

Trump Loses Faith in Putin, Zelensky Wants to Fill Buddy Role

President Trump has approached negotiations with Russia in good faith, displaying patience despite Vladimir Putin’s deceptive tactics and continued attacks on Ukraine. With a two-week deadline to gauge Putin’s sincerity, Trump is prepared to pivot to alternative measures if Russia’s duplicity persists. Trump has expressed disappointment and frustration over Russia’s continued attacks on Ukraine during ongoing discussions for peace.

Both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have tested Trump’s patience. Although Putin’s lies prove more aggravating, Zelensky’s occasional ill-timed remarks draw lighter ire. Zelensky’s humorous claim that Putin annoys Trump more, coupled with his affirmation of their cooperative bond, highlights a dynamic where Trump’s resolve to end the conflict remains steadfast amid challenging counterparts.

Musk Departs DOGE, Trump Expresses Gratitude

The U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), under Elon Musk’s leadership, has made remarkable strides in cleaning up Social Security, removing 12.3 million individuals falsely listed as 120 years or older, saving American taxpayers an impressive $170 billion. This massive overhaul, spotlighted by updates in March and April, tackles longstanding discrepancies and complex cases, ensuring a more accurate and efficient system for the benefit of all Americans.

Musk’s tenure as a Special Government Employee with DOGE has been a triumph, exposing issues like 2.1 million non-citizens receiving Social Security numbers in 2024 and driving transformative savings. As Musk steps away, his gratitude to President Trump and confidence in DOGE’s enduring mission highlight a legacy of reform that promises to reshape government efficiency for years to come.

Trump hosted a warm press conference for Musk, praising his impactful work and presenting him with an honorary “Key to the White House.” He emphasized that Musk would remain a close advisor, noting he was “really not leaving” despite stepping down from his official role.

Appeals Court Rules In Trump’s Favor, Overturning Lower Court Activist Judges

The appeals court’s decision to stay the U.S. Court of International Trade’s ruling reinstates President Trump’s Liberation Day tariffs, affirming his authority to execute the America First agenda entrusted to him by voters. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt called out the lower court’s judges for abusing their power, as Congress, not the judiciary, holds the authority to challenge the president’s use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, a matter already settled in Trump’s favor.

Activist judges in lower courts are once again overstepping their roles, attempting to obstruct Trump’s mandate by imposing nationwide injunctions that undermine his constitutional powers over foreign affairs and economic security. This dangerous trend of unelected judges interfering in presidential decision-making threatens the nation’s ability to function, as Leavitt aptly warned.

Trump Eyes Moving Harvard Funds to Trade Schools

President Trump’s bold proposal to redirect $3 billion in grant money from Harvard to trade schools prioritizes practical education for America’s future, and reflects a sharp rebuke of the university’s unchecked antisemitism and questionable practices. His push to hold Harvard accountable, including challenging its tax-exempt status and foreign student enrollment, signals a commitment to real reform where elite institutions have long evaded scrutiny.

Harvard, despite its vast wealth and global prestige, faces serious allegations of failing to protect Jewish students, exposing a moral lapse that Trump calls out. Demanding transparency on foreign student data and threatening to shift funds, Trump is steering resources toward trade schools that empower everyday Americans, a move that feels both just and urgently needed.

Egg Prices Fell Drastically Since Trump’s Inauguration

Great news for Americans as egg prices have plummeted by over 61% since President Trump’s January inauguration, with a dozen large white eggs now costing just $2.52, down from $6.49, according to the USDA and Trading Economics.

This sharp decline from a peak of over $8 in March serves as a fun reminder to smug leftists who prematurely blamed Trump for high egg prices, while conveniently ignoring them under Joe Biden.

Trump Lauded by Supporters and NFL Players for Nippon Steel Deal

President Trump visited Pennsylvania to announce a strong deal with Nippon Steel, ensuring U.S. Steel’s headquarters remains in Pittsburgh with a $14 billion investment and no layoffs. He also raised tariffs on steel and aluminum from 25% to 50%, boosting the industries and energizing workers.

At the U.S. Steel plant in West Mifflin, Trump was warmly welcomed by Pittsburgh Steelers players, who presented him with a custom No. 47 jersey. His popularity among athletes, especially football players, has grown, with his signature dance becoming a notable touchdown celebration in the 2024 NFL season.

Notable Mentions:

  • Left vs Left: Chris Cillizza faced the consequences of a polarized climate he once amplified, as his Tesla was defaced with a “Musk is a Nazi” sign by other leftists. The former CNN contributor, previously aligned with divisive leftist rhetoric, now decries the violence he had championed and cultivated, but without acknowledging his own role in the hysteria.
  • FBI Tackles Government Corruption: The FBI, under Deputy Director Dan Bongino and Director Kash Patel, is diligently revisiting critical cases of public interest, including the D.C. pipe-bombing, cocaine found at Biden’s White House, and the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision leak, to address potential public corruption and restore trust.

  • Rooting Out Lawfare: Ed Martin, as Associate Deputy Attorney General, is decisively tackling government corruption and lawfare by exposing perpetrators. His weaponization working group is investigating a broad spectrum of abuses, including the targeting of school board parents, practicing Catholics, whistleblowers, the Russia collusion hoax, and the misuse of COVID mandates.
  • PETA Thanks Trump and Hegseth: PETA and animal rights groups have praised President Trump and his administration for their unexpected support, particularly for the Navy’s ban on cat and dog experiments. In a letter to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, PETA thanked Trump and Navy Secretary John Phelan, who announced and signed the order to end such testing, calling it “long overdue.”
